Migration Rules Season 6 Updates

  • 08 Sep, 2026

There are some Dark War Survival Migration rule changes, and the usual cries of woe from the game devs ignoring players’ requests may be a little more subdued this season. However, whilst the devs listened to the cries of using unallocated migration tickets, the strong states are now going to have their allocations “dynamically cut”. Quite what this means, we will have to wait and see.

Dynamic Slot Allocation for Migration

New Tier Ranks & Flourishing States

New identity tiers and State types will be introduced in the upcoming State Migration event! To further optimise the migration experience, we’ll update identity tier evaluation, State types, and immigration rules.

Here are the details of this update:

  • New Commander tier: Survivors’ identity tiers will be determined by their Migration Score ranking within the current session’s migratable States. Survivors with the Commander tier will also receive exclusive avatar frames and other honorary privileges to highlight their Commander status.
  • Regular States and Flourishing States are subject to different immigration slot rules. Meanwhile, the Flourishing States will get a new exclusive shield skin for the Presidential Palace, State Badges and other exclusive honorary emblems.
  • Adjusted the immigration slots and Migration Pass costs for each tier, and added a rule for converting identity tiers downward.
  • During the Migration, the President can set a minimum player CP for this State.
  • The Migration Rules will be permanently available. You can tap the avatar and go to [Account] - [State Migration] to view the phase process, identity tiers, immigration slots and other details.

What does this mean in reality? The devs are trying to limit players flooding into a few states. Which I can understand to one extent; however, given there are so many badly run ones, it’s easy to see why people are keen to move away from certain “leaderships”. Yes, you know exactly what I mean!

There is some good news: tickets can be recycled, albeit downwards, but at least they don’t go to waste.

Migration Score Rules

  • Migration Score: Survivor’s Migration Score is based on data such as the historical peak CP of their 3 troops. This score determines their ranking and tier within the current session’s migratable States.
  • Score Lock: Migration Score locks at a designated time before migration. Once locked, it remains fixed for the session.
  • Adjustments made after the lock will not affect the score. Temporarily removing equipment, chips, or adjusting formations will not affect the locked Migration Score.

Identity Tier Rules: Survivor identity tiers are determined by their Migration Score ranking within the current migratable States and are divided into four types: Commander, Elite, Advanced and Rookie.

Review

Well, there is nothing new here; it’s the usual lock-in of your CP a few weeks ahead of the migration. The dev statements say that Troop CP counts; I don’t think it ever has. Every other factor probably will, so you can problem cut your CP if you’re close to or slightly over a threshold.

CP Dumping

If you’re new to this term, it means stripping off gear and resetting truck chips to reduce your CP score. They closed the door on this for BGB events, but it has been possible on previous Migrations, so you can try if you want to. You will need to do this the night before the migration phase starts, or your score will be locked for the duration.

The common and simplest ways of “CP Dumping” is to do the following.

  • Reset All Truck Chips
  • Strip All Orange Gear from Heroes
  • Reset Training School Heroes

Some advocate resetting skills; I strongly advise against this given the 20% tax effect on reset. There is nothing you can do about pets, research or buildings CP.

State Level Evaluation

A “Flourishing State” will be identified by player, alliance and overall “activity”. Will Kill levels be part of that? It’s never been mentioned before, but what does “activity” mean in this context? States will be compared on “comprehensive and multiple metrics”, and the gaps noted between cluster states. Those that appear “significantly” stronger will have the Advanced and Elite slots reduced or removed.

Presidents and state-leading alliances will not know the true impact of this till the event opens up. I’d be keeping a close eye on the feedback from Cluster 1 states.

How to Choose Your Next State

You want to avoid moving from one “Dictatorship” to Civil War or a bunch of noobs that inherited a state because all the good ones left. I have to be honest, whatever you do, it’s a lottery at best.

Pick a state that matches your playstyle and spending level. Ask questions, screenshots of the current roster and state Presidency rotation agreements. Look at the Amoury allocation and territory sharing clues. Also review the average level of towers there. Older Cluster 1 and 2 are likely to have way more 8-10s, whilst younger servers will barely be in the industrial era. Just take a view of the situation.

Secure a Spot Early: Message their leadership on Discord before jumping. You want to guarantee an active main alliance slot, not a dead academy guild.

Whale or Dolphin? Look for the “Balanced Medium” States
Avoid Mega-Dominant States: If a state already has four or five massive whales, you won’t get a turn as President, and you will fight over high-end raid loot.
Big Fish, Medium Pond: Look for “organised” states that lack a heavy-hitting whale. They will gladly give you a seat in exchange for your muscle during cross-server wars.\

Mid-Tier Spenders: Find the “Council-Led” collaborative states,

Spot the Red Flags: Check the world chat. If one alliance is throwing tantrums or civil wars are constant, stay away.

F2P & Casuals: Go for the “Chill Farm” States or lower level Alliance in a medium state.
Skip the top “Monsters”: High-tier states have brutal daily activity requirements. If you don’t grind every event, they will likely boot you or put you in the “academy”.
Pick cosy, unfilled States: Go for states that still have tons of open slots at the end of Phase 2. Join a lively alliance of similar casuals where you can farm in peace, get the social interaction and still get decent alliance chest rewards.
