Bio Mutant, a weekly event where Alliance teamwork counts. In simple terms, you launch rallies at Franky, and you earn rewards for scoring more damage.

The event currently operates in two time slots to reflect the different time zones players are in.

> The most controversial change has been removing auto-join

The rewards are allocated based on individual and alliance total damage scored. Each gives a specific stack of rewards. Player rewards include **power cores**, Hero Equipment Lucky Chest, Boost Ore, Food and Alliance tokens.

Alliance rewards are **resources**: Coins, Wood, Iron and Electricity.

## Bio Mutant Tactics

In order to do the most damage, everyone participating should **activate War Frenzy** by scouting, giving you a **+5% ATK** buff. It goes without saying that you don't want to do this during Enemy Buster/Kill Event; dropping your shield is not the best move whilst the vultures are prowling!

You can also use **Capital Buffs**, such as _Grand Marshall_ and _Supreme General,_ to further boost your damage potential.

**Faction and Rally Settings**

This is a basic mechanic, yet I still see many getting this wrong. Set your rally restrictions to the Heros in the truck. If they're Shooter heroes, set a shooter-only restriction; likewise for Fighters and Riders. If you set 2 or 3, you're completely negating the benefits and reason for setting them.

It is a fundamental mechanic of the game that the rally launcher heroes, research and mod vehicle (truck) are applied to all troops joining. So if the lead heroes are Fighters and you allow shooters and riders to join, they don't get any hero buffs, and this makes a huge difference to the damage being done overall. It is up to the rally joiners to go to the Reservist Camp and swap in/out appropriate troops for the event. Don't forget to swap them back.

### Designate Rally Leaders

It's important this event isn't a free-for-all, or you will not get the best rewards for you and your alliance teammates. The alliance leadership needs to set launch guidelines. Early game, this might be those over 100m F1, later 3,4 or 500m and joining with all your other trucks. This is definitely a case of the strong ones carrying the load. The F1 threshold changes as you progress, so it's important to track this.

Who leads has a huge influence on the damage achieved during that rally attack. This principle applies to any rally attack: Turrets, Capital, Watch Tower.

![Frank rally damage comparison](</images/frank damage.png>)

The difference in the example above is 5.4G. This is 2G F1 joining a much stronger player (4G) to take advantage of the extra research, exclusive weaponry, mod vehicle upgrades and Hero gear too. Joining the 4G F1 player increased the damage by 5.4G. The second image is the 2G leading the rally, so no added boosts, just the player's own levels. It's important to understand this mechanic and how it operates, as it's the key to maximising the rewards for this event.

#### Launch vs Join

The damage example in the image shows a 2G F1 joining a 4G rally launcher with superior research, mod vehicle and exclusive weapons. I cannot emphasise enough that for lower-power players, joining rallies is better for you and the alliance. You do more damage. Period. The example used is extreme; I would certainly set a lower bar than 2G for a rally launcher, but nevertheless the point is made. Join bigger rallies and join stronger players.

That last sentence will have every R4 & 5 jumping in Discord to tell me to stop telling people that! Yes, you will be told, “fill rallies from the bottom up”. This works well if you've planned your launch leaders. If you haven't, then people will naturally figure out that the top ranks in the event damage report are the rallies to join.

> All Players should have restrictions on rally joiners matched to the heroes in the truck

Early game, you may want to consider staggering the launch cycles. Identify your top 20 participants for the event. The top 10 go first, 1m later the next 10, 1m after that anyone above a specified threshold can launch. Any truck not used as a rally launcher may join any available rally.

You really should plan this event, especially in Season 1 and through Season 2. The free resources will be useful to all players, but especially F2P and low-spend members.

Later game, and certainly once you're in the industrial era, this level of planning isn't really necessary as the RSS drops are no longer as valuable. It won't be long before you're only participating to get to the 27 Power Core threshold. Wait what?

Unpopular Opinion 2 in this blog is coming up. The Bio Mutant/Franky event becomes less and less relevant as you grow. Whilst you're in the “Tower Rush" to 30 phase, every spec of RSS you can gain will help the rush to T10 troops. It will become obvious to you that 30,40, 50m of ea RSS is now a drop in the ocean. What you're actually participating for is the Power Cores. All 27 of them. Even these become less and less relevant.

![Franky player rewards table](</images/Franky Player rewards _copy(1).png>)

The game can be a time bandit, so grabbing what you need from events quickly becomes a real-life requirement. Families, jobs, illness, caring duties, the list goes on with more important things than a game. If you can hit the threshold to get the 27 Cores in 1 hit, you'll be saving 30m right there.

As shown in the image above, once you reach the 27 power core threshold, the additional rewards are boost ore, food and alliance tokens. That's a personal decision to keep going.

One final note is that once the countdown gets to 5m, anyone can launch; just go for it, any damage is better than no damage. Don't bother launching under 3m obviously; it won't land!

##### Summary

So the checklist for the event seems like a lot, but it quickly becomes a routine process.

* Identify your scout point to activate Frenzy. Bookmark it.
* Check Heroes - check that your formations are optimised; 5 Heroes = 135%, 4 =125%
* Set your Truck/Rally joiner restrictions to match your hero faction
* Swap troops in Reservist to cover Fighters, Shooters and possibly Riders.
* Apply for a cap buff, unless you're asked to leave those for the strongest player(s)
* Launch and Join asap; heal in between.
